Turntable Cabinet
Most of us can remember these stereo cabinets as a part of our parent’s living rooms when we were kids. We had a Zenith that I remember well and I’ve always wanted to make a version of it.
This piece was custom built for a record collector who liked my TV Console so the two pieces share many details. The lid opens to reveal the area for the turntable and a pocket to hold LP’s. Underneath this is an area with an adjustable shelf for the amplifier and other equipment. During use the two doors slide to the center to expose the cloth speaker panels. Speakers sit on adjustable shelves behind the cloth panels that are removable with small thumbscrews. In order to ease access to wiring the back panels are removable with thumbscrews and all interior compartments have holes for cables to pass through.
