Writing Desk

The angled lines of mid-century design give this desk a classic appeal but its use is very modern. With a work surface at 27” high it works well as both a computer desk and a desk to write at the old fashioned way, with a pen and paper.

The mortise and tenon joinery on the sides are reinforced by elm pegs which draw the joints tighter as the pegs are inserted. An opening at the back of the top keeps the clutter of cables concealed. The small dovetailed drawer at the corner has a pencil tray in front and a center-mounted runner to guide it smoothly as it opens and closes.
