About Sidecar Furniture

Founded in 2006, Sidecar Furniture features the work of David Johnson. David uses traditional woodworking techniques to create original, modern pieces that are environmentally friendly.
David Johnson studied at the world-renowned College of the Redwoods under Master Craftsman James Krenov. This program emphasized traditional woodworking techniques and a keen attention to detail. By combining this influence of tradition with a modernist aesthetic, David creates well-crafted, functional and artistic modern furniture designed to last a lifetime.
David uses only sustainably harvested woods primarily from the “urban forest”, which are trees removed for reasons other than the harvest of their lumber. Other sources are woods that are reclaimed or certified as sustainably harvested by the FSC (www.fsc.org). Finishes used are natural and petrochemical free and glues are non-toxic.
